The Scranton Rail Restoration Coalition was founded in February 2019 to bring back passenger rail to the Northeastern Pennsylvania region. The organization’s leaders and members develop relationships with government and Amtrak officials and business leaders in pursuit of restoring passenger trains to our wonderful area.
Currently, we advocate for three projects:Â Amtrak service between Scranton, Allentown, and Philadelphia; Amtrak service between Binghamton, Scranton, and New York City; and restoring the Lackawanna Cut-off up to Scranton. Click the project to go to its petition page.
We believe passionately about the potential of passenger rail to be a win for all parties involved. It helps brings in tourists, makes the commute for work easier, and can help college students go back and forth to home.
